Two New Dwellings Approved in Sheldon

TP Editorial Team

We are delighted to have obtained planning permission from Birmingham City Council for the erection of two dwellings on Rectory Park Road in Sheldon.

The vacant site, located between existing properties, previously formed part of garden land to the adjacent dwellings. The proposed new dwellings would comprise three bedrooms and providing off road parking to the front. We took inspiration for the design from the existing housing stock in the locality, and designed the scheme to provide dwellings with a contemporary, modern appearance, whilst taking on the positive characteristics of the adjoining properties, including the building line and set back from the public highway.

The Council supported the proposed houses, considering they would be appropriate in this location. They agreed there was no impact on residential amenity of existing neighbouring properties or proposed new occupiers and that the proposal was acceptable in all terms, including highways and design. Planning permission was granted subject to conditions.
