Rise in Planning Fees postponed!

TP Editorial Team

Further to our post in April advising of a proposed rise in planning application fees by the Government in July, we have been in contact with the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG), as there had been no more recent clarification of the proposal.

The DCLG confirmed to us that the decision to hold a General Election, and the subsequent changes to the Ministerial team, has delayed the proposed increase in planning application fees and that this matter is still to be considered by Ministers.

For the time being therefore it appears that planning fees are to remain at their current levels but we shall post updates as and when they occur.
