Tyler Parkes Welcomes New Senior Planning Consultant
We are pleased to announce that we have strengthened our planning team with the appointment of a new Senior Planning Consultant.
Nadia Sharif has joined Tyler Parkes from her previous position as a member of the Planning Group at No 5 Chambers, Birmingham.
Nadia is a Member of Lincoln’s Inn and was called to the Bar in 1985. She practised as a specialist planning barrister for over 28 years (17 years at No 5 Chambers), dealing with a wide range of planning matters, including appearing at major public inquiries and Local Plan examinations.
During her career at the Bar, Nadia gained broad expertise in development management and forward planning matters and has advised and represented developer and local planning authority clients in respect of a wide range of issues and at major Public Inquiries.
Nadia has extensive experience in regeneration proposals, major residential schemes, five year housing land supply issues, mixed-use and commercial developments, heritage issues, developments in the Green Belt and AONB, landscape issues and Compulsory Purchase Orders. She has advised developers and landowners in respect of objections to policies in emerging Local Plans and site allocations, in addition to advising local authorities in relation to Local Plan reviews and represented them at public examinations.
Having been appointed as a Senior Planning Consultant at Tyler Parkes, in her new role Nadia will be involved in giving planning advice on a wide range of development management and policy issues from pre-application stage through to implementation. She will undertake inter alia, site appraisals, drafting grounds of appeal, planning supporting statements, advise on policy matters and attend public meetings. With her forensic experience as a Tribunal advocate, she will also represent clients at hearings or public inquiries where necessary.
In addition, Nadia will advise on relevant forward planning issues and represent clients at Local Plan examinations where required.
