Nursery approval for Henley-in-Arden

TP Editorial Team

We have successfully secured prior approval in Henley-in-Arden for the change of use of 2 office units to a registered children’s nursery providing flexible day care for children from 3 months to 4 years – 54 children in total – as well as after school and holiday clubs.

The site is set behind the High Street, but accessible through a pedestrian link. It comprises two separate office units within a four-unit complex, located next to Henley in Arden’s Medical Centre. Vehicle access is taken through an adjacent residential estate.

We prepared the application, including providing a supporting Planning Statement, setting out how the proposed change of use conforms to the relevant regulations to allow the use to be permitted under the simplified prior approval process rather than having to apply for full planning permission. We ensured that we addressed the relevant highways, noise and contamination matters. The key to the successful determination was the clarity at which these relevant matters were addressed, which reduced avenues for any objections or delays and allowed the Council to promptly issue the permission.
