Affordable Housing Threshold Remains Unaltered for the Time Being

The mooted temporary increase to the affordable housing threshold has been dropped. On 1st April 2021, The Ministry of Housing (MHCLG) announced that it has decided not to temporarily increase the sizes of sites which would be required to provide a proportion of affordable housing. It had been suggested in the August 2020 ‘Changes to the Current Planning System’ consultation document that the threshold might be increased from 10 to 40 or 50 dwellings.
