Chelmsley Wood Town Centre Masterplan

TP Editorial Team

Solihull Council have launched their initial masterplan ideas for the Northwest Quarter of Chelmsley Wood Town Centre bounded by Kingshurst Brook, Chelmsley Road, Moorend Avenue and Bosworth Drive. The aim of the masterplan is to engage with local residents and stakeholders to agree an approach to reinvigorating the Town Centre by identifying constraints and opportunities. Examples of potential opportunities include the introduction of a discount food retailer; health, cultural and leisure uses; a public sector hub; residential development such as extra care housing and affordable housing; a town square for flexible events, cafes, restaurants and bars; and improved links to the parks and the existing shopping centre.

The draft masterplan is out for public consultation until Friday 24th March 2022 and can be seen at Chelmsley Wood Town Centre Masterplan (solihull.gov.uk).
