New Volvo Car Dealership for Worcester

We are very pleased to confirm that we have secured planning permission from Worcester City Council for our clients, The Listers Group Ltd., for the refurbishment and extension of a former Listers “U” used car dealership and workshop on Bromyard Road, Worcester, to deliver a new Volvo Car Dealership.

The proposal centres upon the demolition of the existing front showroom section of the existing premises, to be replaced by a more substantial full height showroom, allied with new cladding and Volvo corporate branding and associated improvements to the “back of house” areas, including internal reconfiguration of the workshop area; improved sales and office area; and, new mezzanine for parts store. Volvo have ambitious targets for Electric Vehicle production, and the development therefore also makes provision for a significant level of electric vehicle charging facilities on site, and further future provision.

In securing this permission, we have worked closely with our client’s established multi-discipline Development Team, and in particular with Taylor Design Architects Ltd. A special “thank you” goes to Worcester City Council Planners, and in particular the Case Officer, Dale Jones, for his assistance throughout, starting with an early site meeting within days of the application being submitted, which enabled positive discussions and minor amendments to be made swiftly, and his continued communication throughout.

The application was approved under the Council’s Scheme of Delegation on 10 May 2023.
