Solihull Call for Sites

John Baggott

Following the well documented recent withdrawal of the Solihull Local Plan from Examination, the Council has now commenced the process for preparing a new Local Plan starting with a new “Call for Sites” which runs from Friday 29th November 2024, until 31st January 2025.

The Council is inviting landowners, residents and other interested parties to submit sites that could have development potential. Sites for any type of future use can be submitted including, but not restricted to: new homes; employment and retail uses; Gypsy and Traveller pitches; and renewable energy projects.

The Council advise that as this is a fresh ‘call for sites’ exercise, any sites that have previously been submitted or promoted in the previous Solihull Draft Local Plan will need to be resubmitted with up-to-date evidence on the availability of proposed sites. The Council is keen to receive submissions about sites not previously promoted, especially if they relate to brownfield land opportunities.

If you have any sites you would wish to discuss and require assistance with promoting through this new Call for Sites opportunity, please contact our Planning Policy Team on 0121 744 5511.
