South Staffordshire Local Plan Consultation
South Staffordshire Council are again consulting on their Publication Plan version (also known as a pre-submission plan) of their emerging Local Plan having previously delayed its submission for Examination in Public early last year. The consultation will run for 6 weeks beginning Thursday 18 April until midday on Friday 31 May 2024.
This Regulation 19 consultation is specifically seeking views on the following:
Legal Compliance – does the plan meet the legal requirements made under relevant legislation?
Soundness – has the plan been positively prepared, justified, effective, and consistent with national policy?
It is particularly interesting to note that the Council’s Publication Plan is proposing a housing target of 4,726 new homes between 2023 and 2041, compared with the 9,089 dwellings (2018 – 2039) proposed in the previous version of the Publication Plan (2022).
