Town Planning Consultants - all levels
Due to the retirement of a long-standing member of the team, alongside our growing workload, we have vacancies for permanent full-time and part-time town planners. Tyler Parkes is enjoying its 26th year of business and is one of the largest independent planning consultancies in the West Midlands.
You will be joining a busy and experienced town planning and architectural team. We work in a variety of sectors including large and small-scale residential and commercial, including planning appraisals, applications and appeals, enforcement and local plan work. Our clients include housebuilders, private landowners and the public sector, including NHS Trusts, Emergency Services and Local Authority Planning Teams.
We work predominantly in the West Midlands but also nationally, in both urban and rural areas, including Green Belt. Having in-house architectural staff means that you will be involved in many varied projects from the start through to permission and you will be given schemes for which you will be responsible from the outset. We have a great team spirit and a supportive work environment.
Depending on your work experience, your role may include: -
Leading on a range of projects;
Liaising and negotiating with various stakeholders including developers, other specialist consultants and planning officers;
Preparing documents for input into projects, such as planning support statements and appeal submissions;
Presenting to planning committees, and appearing at hearings, inquiries and examinations;
Development Plan Policy Documents representations; and
Identifying new business opportunities to expand the company’s client base.
The successful candidate will enjoy a flexible split of working in a friendly work environment in our Solihull office and from home. To be successful, you must be a team player, be able to manage competing demands on your time and be self-motivated. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills. Your experience should be varied in terms of types and sizes of projects and direct experience of policy planning would be advantageous. You should be technically competent and computer literate.
To be successful in this position you must be MRTPI. Experience in both the public and the private sectors would be an advantage, although not essential. In return, we offer an attractive remuneration package.
We are an equal opportunities employer.
Applicants will need to confirm that they are legally able to work in the UK and will require a full driver's licence and access to a car for site visits.
