Former MOD Camp

Leek, Staffordshire

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We were involved in obtaining planning permission on behalf of our client Enhanced Developments Limited for a mixed-use development of extra care cottages, residential and nursing homes, holiday lodges, a social building, a shop, café and community meeting rooms, live/work units and a facility building for maintaining the extra care development. The scale of the development required an Environmental Impact Assessment to be carried out and an Environmental Statement submitted in support of the proposals.

Tyler Parkes, as planning consultants for the scheme, were involved in extensive pre-application discussions with the Council as well as a community consultation event and negotiated the planning application through to its successful outcome. The main issues we helped to overcome were the visual impact of the proposal on the nearby Peak District National Park and the mitigation of potential noise from a nearby shooting club.
